ABOUT US
Think back to your thirteen-year-old self.

Remember all of those fun, intriguing books and magazines you begged your parents to buy for you from the book catalogue you got at school? How about the legendary Bill Nye? Brain POP, Nat Geo KIDS?

Unfortunately, these are all resources that are not necessarily available to all growing children, especially in less fortunate areas like the one we live in at Penn. We want to make sure that every child gets a chance to be inspired at a young age, as well as a chance to share some of the most vivid and sweet memories from our childhood.

This is what inspired us to create UnEarthed here at Penn.

We want to make sure that every child has the chance to unearth their intellect and curiosity as we unearth the wonders of the world in our publication. We strive to provide free, creative and inspirational educational magazines for pre-teens and teens in the West Philadelphia area. We feature everything and anything interesting, from the wonders of the Pyramids of Giza, to the rise of superbugs, the magic of the Fibonacci sequence, and the myths of the mystical Yeti.
Brainstorm
Everything at unEarthed is team driven - we brainstorm, develop and implement all processes as a team. All ideas are investigated with no avenue ignored.
WRITING
Our writers spend the early part of each semester creating content for each issue. Our semesterly issues have unique themes to which all content relates back.
DESIGN
Our design team keeps the audience in mind when producing kid-friendly spreads. We give our designers creative discretion to do what they do best: design.
Distribution
We partner with West Philadelphia elementary and middle schools, community outreach programs and local tutoring services to distribute our publication to inquisitive, young children, eager to learn about the world they live in.
